A man with rhythm could get most girls attention and heart. For Gene Kelly, getting women's attention wasn't a struggle. The attractive young dancing male at the time could get girls right and left. To see his moves through film and the romantic side of him to his co-stars during films, women swooned over Kelly. Gene had married three times in his life time. The first being to one of his co-stars, Betsy Blair, in the film Marty.

Betsy married Gene at seventeen years old. She became a mother at the age of eighteen to a little baby girl and was married to Gene for 16 years. They lived together on Rodeo Dr, as Gene continued on his film career Betsy lived the life of a stay at home mother. On Saturday nights she would have luxurious gatherings at their house while playing on the piano and singing the night away. Betsy dreamed of stardom since the age of eight and Gene made her dreams come true when he landed her her first film with MGM. In 1957 Betsy and Gene decided to part ways. In her autobiography, she said she was never upset with Gene or his decisions, but she had felt more free after they had parted ways. This was not a set back for either of the two, but instead a lessoned learned, because then later on, Gene had met Jeanne Coyne.

Jeanne was a broadway dancer and a choreographer. She was directed under Kelly and also under Stanley Donen, the co-director with Kelly for Singin In the Rain. Before she married Kelly though, she had first married Stanley (talk about some drama.) She married Stanley for three years and then nine years later married to Kelly. They had two children together before Jeanne passed away at age 50 due to cancer. Love comes and goes so fast, but that didn't stop Gene from finding one last love before his time was up

Gene finally met the last love of his life before his own passing, Patricia Ward. Patricia is an author and public speaker from Los Angeles. The two had met when Kelly was a host for a television special over the Smithsonian in 1985. Patricia was a writer on the project for the special at the time. Kelly had hired her to write his memoirs and the two love birds hit off! They got married in 1990 and Gene had passed away in 1996. They didn't have any children together. Patricia is still in the process of completely a book over their life together.
Gene had many romantic encounters, according to first wife Betsy. This is no shocker because he was an actor, singer, and dancer who spent extra hours in the studio with the women. It may take someone three tries to find the one, it may take someone one, but for Gene Kelly, I bet her just liked to explore his options .Gene was definitely a ladies man, he wasn't quiet about it and his past wives weren't either. Can you blame a woman though? I mean his smile could make just about any sink into his arms.
